The Hyperion TacFiresXR simulator consists of a rugged man-portable rack-based computer system capable of being easily transported in the back of an SUV to deliver cost effective Joint Fires training at the time and place of the users choosing.
The system uses a Mixed Reality headset to immerse trainees in a 360-degree virtual environment, whilst also being able to interact with real world equipment (map, notebook, simulated military equipment, ATAK etc).
The simulator is fully accreditable by the Joint Fires Support Executive Steering Committee (JFS ESC), allowing for Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) and Joint Fires Observers (JFOs) to conduct controls as part of certification or maintenance of qualification training as well as indirect fires target engagement and mission planning or tactical rehearsals.
